Hon. Janeth Elias Mahawanga, MP Special Seat, Dar es Salaam Region

Janeth Betty is a Master’s degree holder in Business Administration (MBA), and a bachelor of Public Relations and Advertisement from the University of Dar es Salaam. Janethbetty professional career and contribution is crystal clear as she has served for Citibank from (2009 – 2020), International Commercial Bank in (2007), HAKIELIMU (2007), Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Internal Relations (2006), The National Museum (2005), and Radio Tanzania Dar es Salaam (2004).

Recognized for her vibrant, industrious character and earnest drive into her duties, Hon. Janeth Elias Mahawanga (Janethbetty), is a visionary leader you can effortlessly spot.

Janethbetty’s journey into political blooming is a true definition of ‘growth bit by bit’. Tracing as far back as in her college days where she has been a remarkable member of the CCM Motivation Committee UDSM branch (2004) and CCM Youth League Implementation Committee, Mikocheni Branch from 2008.

Janeth Betty, too has led and actively engaged in women development programs and has served as a chairperson of the Women of Hope Alive Entrepreneurs, a treasurer and trainer of Women Entrepreneurs and a chairperson of CCM women – Makongo Ward from 2017. With the same spirit, Janet was trusted and appointed for Member of the Parliament, Special Seats representing women in Dar es Salaam Region (2020 – 2025).

As a woman, and a leader, Janeth Betty is deeply convinced that; with the right exposure to market insights and resources, handy yet up-to-date skills and suitable support services; every woman can take off, fly high and excel beyond expectations, at everything presented to her.
